MisCALculated

It was a bad week for the artist formerly known as the 12th ranked Cal Bears. Tonight the followed up their twenty point beatdpwn to Syracuse with a not as close as the score - loss to Ohio St.

The damage done is far more than two losses. Cal was considered to be the class of an admitedly "down" Pac 10. Syracuse was picked between 4th and 7th in the BEast. Ohio St, though highly regarded, was picked third by every pundit, coach and analyist.

Both handled Cal with aplomb.

The long reaching effect? An undervuing of PAC10 wins in conference until someone scalps a big guy (or cal drops from the radar in conference play. Judging from early results; see: UCLA, it seems unlikely.

Unless Cal can redeem themselves Dec 22nd in Lawrence, you are looking at this year's SEC.

Unless of course this year's SEC is... The SEC! But that article can wait for Sunday...
